Dream Date Slots
Dream Date is the slot that many people have been hunting for. This game combines traditional slot play with an entirely different kind of interactive gameplay. This game is decent to look at, and you’re sure to win some money, but people are playing Dream Date for the experience. Don’t go into this game thinking it's just another slot because you’ll be surprised and more than a little confused. Here is what you can expect from Dream Date Slot.
Choose Your Date
The game has a semi-realistic art style where the symbols and background are clearly drawn but still have a realistic look to them. Before you even start the game, you must choose between a historical or modern era. In the modern era, the board rests on a backdrop that looks like any generic big city with tall buildings towering over green areas.
In the historic era, you find yourself in a garden with flora wrapped around white pillars. In a strange choice, it looks like the city background is overlaid on this one because you can see you see an orange sky and snow-capped trees in both of these versions, but it is front and center in the historical version and seems to just peak out behind the cold grey city aesthetic of the modern game.
The symbols in this game are out of the ordinary for a couple of reasons. First, before you even get started, you have to choose your dream date from the symbols. These become the highest-paying symbols in the game, so the amount a person's symbol is worth isn’t decided until you’ve chosen your dream date. This game trades out the standard playing card symbols for multi-colored gems that represent the playing card suites with a few extra shapes. Whether you are a man or a woman, you always play as a woman in the game, with a blonde in a green dress being your character in the historical version and a brunette in a red dress in the modern version. The men round out the rest of the traditional symbols and include a firefighter, spy, biker, and pool boy for the modern game and an archer, pirate, gladiator, and general Casanova for the historical version.
All of this is already fantastic, but the audio portion of this game is immersive. First, you get multiple upbeat jazz songs for the modern version that fit so perfectly with this game and more melodic renaissance music for the historical version. Neither version gets tiresome because there is less repetition with multiple songs. Then there are the sound effects that are again perfect for the game, ranging from the generic sound of money clinking to the unmistakable sound of fireworks. Finally, there is even transition music between features that is as pleasant as it is exciting.
Features as Hot as Your Date
Even though there is already so much happening in this game, the developer managed to pack it with bonus features. These bonus features would be excellent in any game, but since it is this game, it makes them even better. Of course, we can’t forget the wild, which is represented by the Dream Date logo and can replace any symbol but the scatter, but it also holds its own value and is worth a lot if you hit a winning line of wilds.
The scatter symbol can’t be missed since it is a book with the word scatter scrawled across the bottom. This symbol is worth money by itself, but when you hit three or more on the board during any one spin, it unlocks the scatter bonus. This event unlocks eight free spins and gives you a special board to play on. On this board, any wild that is hit in the middle reel expands to take over the entire reel before lines are counted.
The real star of this show is the Hot Zones feature. If you land your lady and any of the dates in the “hot zones,” you will activate this feature. The “hot zones” are the middle row of reels one and five. If you land any of the dates in the hot zones, you instantly win a stake multiplier of up to forty times your stake. If you land your chosen date in the hot zone, you get a multiplier and eight free spins.
Don’t Be Late for an Important Date
This is not your typical slot game by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, the actual spinning of the reels may be the least interesting part of this game. It offers so many gameplay options from an industry that rarely offers any. From the era you are playing in to what the symbols are worth, this can be a new game every time. Mix that with some excellent special features, and you get a game that won’t get boring for a long time. More slot designers should take note and make more games like this one.
